Competition Outlines:
In this competition u simply have to post tips related to the topic(s) given!
Here, u would be given two topics:
a) a funny one
b) a serious one

-you would have to give five tips on each topic prescribed. Simple!

RULES:
* Only at-most four members from one team can post 10 tips each means altogether required are 10 tips from each team every week. (5 tips on funny topic n 5 on the serious one)
* Best tips will be decided by the judges keepin in account the tips provided by both teamz
* Team leaders will first decide which four members will post the tips.
* If more than Four members from one team will be posting tips the latter tips will be dis-qualified.

I am sorry for interfering, but Omer, chanda there are so many countries that have english as their national language, yet they do not have any designated non di-elect intonation.

Therefore, may it be british or american, canadian or australian english, you just focus on which accent you feel you can teach others and go ahead with it:).....

that is what I think, but if maisho and other moderators feel that I am wrong, please advise accordingly:)

i know what u saying.. but what i don't understand so far... what is better english accent?? does it mean that my accent should be as same as the ppl who actually born in the country where english is national language???

or the question should be how to improve your english not accent..?

Well, I seek forgiveness from the mods again for interfering, but i feel we should help solve all the inquiries members have:)

Omer, what I think is, personally I do not consider accent to be of an issue.
But since some countries have english as their national language, therefore there is no ONE correct english accent per se. Yes ofcourse British English used to be considered the sole correct form, in the past, but it is not true at the moment.

Because if we consider the most number of people speaking, then INDIAN accent should be correct cause they are the maximum number of people speaking english in a country all over the world:)

Therefore, whichever accent YOU consider to be true, or in other words are capable of teaching, go for it. Because it would be unfair to ask someone from pakistan to teach an accent he or she has a handicap compared to those who were born there.

If you feel you can teach american accent, well then give tips regarding that accent.......

Please do not get confused and make it complicated for yourself:). Think simple:).

Sorry mods, I am interefering with my own views here but if this conflicts your policy regarding competition, then please chalk out your views so that omer's confusion can be resolved.

... i can't certainly teach them ne accent unless they r willing to learn... but i shall come up with the best advice in order for everyone to improve their learning skills..

1) ASK to learn.( Don't be afraid of asking questions as Questioning is the key to learn )

2) Confidence.(it's the key to success and key to confidence is Knowledge)

3) Speaking Power.. ( Speak Slowly )

4) Improve your Vocabulary (READ READ and READ MORE )

5) Record ur own voice n listen to it n compare it to the accent u want to have plus listen to that accent more and more and try to absorb it.

2. Well, as far as learning an English accent is concerned, especially when the Received Pronounciation/RP (also known as Queen's English or BBC English), you'll for sure have to commit yourself towards it by working like a Trojan.

3. You most certainly would find Cambridge Dictionaries Online - Cambridge University Press very useful since it provides the "Phonetic symbol" (the way words are pronounced) in BOTH British and American English, so you could compare the difference in pronounciation of each word.

4. Rememember all good things take their time to come. so be patient

5. get as much exposure to it and get to hear the sounds in your head, then start moving closer and closer to them.
