ENERGY CRISIS: Day-night matches... what's the point?
Everyone knows that Pakistan is currently facing the worst energy crises of her entire history. So when Bangladeshi team arrived, the PCB should have taken a decision to play all the matches in bright day-light hours. Almighty Allah has blessed us with so much sun light, but instead of us using all this brilliant weather for our benefit, we completely disregard this free natural source of energy. Ofcourse we continue to ignore every other natural sources of energy too like wind, solar, nuclear, hydal etc. But interesting thing about this particular example is THAT NOBODY HAD TO DO ANYTHING. I MEAN ANYTHING AT ALL. NO WIND MILLS, NO SOLAR PANELS, NO DAMS, NO FISSILE MATERIAL, NO ANYTHING. All that was required was a change in starting time for the match. Instead of 2 or 3 pm, match could start at 7 or 8 am. Even a kindergarten baby can figure this out. (similarly, an advance of 2 hours in PST can cause substantial reduction in energy consumption, I wonder why our leaders can only come up with "WE WILL REPLACE OUR BULBS WITH ENERGY-SAVERS.. and this is our grand solution.. ")
In conformity with the overall dumbness of our leaders, the PCB has arranged diesel powered electical generators to provide a backup support in case there is a power outage from the grid. This is really waste of energy. Not to mention the cost of the fuel and to the environment that these big gas guzzling generator will cause.
If anyone reading this has some contacts with any PCB or government official please do give him some advice.
