Waqar may become Pak's bowling coach
Former captain Waqar Younis, who was known for his toe-crushers and extreme pace in the first part of his career, may come along with the Pakistan team to India as the team's bowling coach, a top PCB official told PTI.

PCB Chairman Shaharyar Khan said that the Board would write to Younis asking if he would be interested to join the team as bowling coach. Waqar took 373 Test and 416 one-day wickets during his career.

"We all know Waqar Younis has recently been doing television assignments. We want to know if he is free during the Indian series so that we can utilise his services," Shaharyar Khan said. Younis has verbally conveyed his availability for the assignment.

According to the report, Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq is extremely keen to have Waqar Younis as bowling coach and the idea is being supported by coach Bob Woolmer.

Pakistan bowled 15 wides and 59 no-balls in four innings of three Tests against Australia while as many as 45 no balls and 69 wides were recorded in the eight one-day games. Against India last year, Pakistan bowled 14 wides and 22 no-balls in the Test series and 35 no balls and 73 wide balls in the five one-dayers.

Wasim Akram was also approached for the job but he islearnt to have expressed his inability because of his media commitments. Akram has however agreed to serve as a Fellow in PCB's National Cricket Academy in Lahore.

kia bolte ho mian...waqar younis was the best bowler in the world....uska record speaks for itself...aur agar wasim akram aur board ki politics naheen hoteen...to woh to definitely 600 se ziada ODI wickets leta...aur test main bhee around 500

Oh Meray bhai agar Waqar accha bowler nahain tha tu phir kon accha bowler that ,, Dunya main sub say accha strike rate Waqar ka ,, aur abhi bhi woh accha bowler nahain tha, tu phir aap kee nzazr main accha bowler koon ho ga,
