The current procedure
Step 1
The bearer of the savings certificate (i.e. you) is expected to obtain a token from the electronic device. For the uninitiated there is a guide available, on how to operate.The token has a number on it.
Step 2
You have to wait till your number is electronically displayed on top of a counter, on a small little board.You go to the counter.Submit your certificate +profit coupon.The cashier will put your your allotted number on your profit coupon and send them for further processing.
Step 3
You resume being seated and wait.When your number is displayed, you go to the counter, receive your profit, coupon book and all.Good bit of waiting.Sometimes the whole waiting game takes a coupla hours.
SUGGESTED PROCEDURE
Step 1
Combine steps 1&2
For that a collection point will have to be created, with one person incharge.So, you obtain your number, submit your NSS profit coupon book to the incharge.He will put your number on it. Then pass it on to the relevant counter.You go with your token and take a seat.
Step 2
When you see your number electronically displayed.Go straight to the counter, collect your profit. And you are free to go home. An one door operation.Cannot say the total time taken will be the same, but at least you Wont have to get up from your seat twice and lose it too in the process.As there are plenty of women and frail old people around!
