Thanks ASQR, I am too much happy just because of this that I am 101% Pakistani.... My Identity is Pakistan, My love is Pakistan.... When I joined forum first time, in the year of 2002, Eveybody was making fight with each other, That time admin was not participating, they are not taking it seriously, Then some members left forum and created thier own forum.

I was so depressed and left the forum. Without making any posting. Then I seriously involved in my medical studies. But after couple of years, once I tried and login I saw forum more impressive. But missing lack of geniune and meaning full threads in this forum.

As I used to search different articles through googles I found many of International forums and I found very impressive information there... I was surprised when I see excellent information of Pakistan in those International forums... But sorry to say that... We are Pakistani and it is our own forum.... So... My mission started there....

Cinema in Karachi

Cinema in Karachi or Kariwood had its golden days in 1960s when some of the prominent film studios were located in Karachi, making films for the viewership of a large and growing working-class population.

With a metropolitan area hosting the world's second most populated city, the film viewership is still popular in Karachi. However, the interest has shifted more towards the Hollywood and other international productions. One of the reasons for the shifting trends is attributed to the moving of film-making industry to Lahore, locally termed as Lollywood.

History of cinema in Karachi
In 1960s and 1970s Karachi was the centre of the Pakistani film industry with a host of cinemas and film studios located in this city. Watching movies at the cinemas were major pass-time and recreation activities. However, in 1980s two major changes came about:

First, the film-industry moved to Lahore. Also there has been a notable growth of Pashto films industry in Peshawar.
Second, the arrival of Videocassette recorder so that people could watch movies in the comfort of their homes.
These changes resulted in the closure of many movie theaters, and majority of them were converted into shopping malls or apartment blocks.

Revitalization
Amidst the growing concerns over the decline of the industry and viewership, and the need for revitalization, a number of initiatives have been taken at the cultural landscape of Karachi. Most effective of them all is the trend of the annual international Kara Film Festival since 2001.

The picture shown on the right side of this text is of a new shopping centre in Gulistan-e-Jauhar area known as Mellinium Mall. Therefore, the caption of this picture is totally incorrect. Behind this building, there used to be an open air cinema called Drive-In Cinema which was established in 1960s and functioned till late 1980s. (Nusrat Amin)

U r one Pakistani that I know is truly Pakistani, other indulge in bickering, greed, and most of all Put Pakistan down at any opportunity.Lawyer are out to protect their jobs, Where as lots of common people have their properties occupied by QABZA groups, lots of killing is going on, but lawyer do not see that. All they see is that one of them lost the job rightly or wrongly, they are out in force, what about common people who's business have been unfairly taken with the help of these lawyers and have no recourse. What about innocdent people being killed, unless u have big money, u have no chance. But Lawyers are out in force for what.

They should be outraged by mistreatment of poor people, be out for opening schools, be out for Water and Atta shortage, and be outraged for power shortage, cause they are the backbone of society, if all they show is to be outraged for one of them loosing hid job, than may Allah help us all.
