Creation of God Part 4
December 2, 2006 — moralsandethics
Salam,

The Signs In Living Things

PROFESSIONAL HUNTERS

In the sixth verse of Surah Hud, Allah states that Allah gives the “sustenance” of all living things, that is, Allah creates all the provisions that provide for their subsistence:

There is no creature on the earth which is not dependent upon Allah for its provision. He knows where it lives and where it dies.

They are all in a Clear Book.

(Chapter Hud: Verse : 06)

One day a group of scientists got together and decided that man had come a long way and no longer needed God. They picked one scientist to go and tell Him that they were done with Him. The scientist walked up to God and said, “God, we’ve decided that we no longer need you. We’re to the point that we can clone people and do many miraculous things, so why don’t you just leave us be.”

God listened patiently to the man and after the scientist was finished talking, God said, “Very well. How about this? Let’s have a man making contest.”

The scientist, with great arrogance said, “That would be fine.”

The Lord added, “Now, we are going to do this just like I did back in the old days with Adam.”

The scientist said, “Sure, no problem,” then bent down and grabbed a handful of dirt.

God said to the scientist, “No, no, no. You go get your own dirt!”

And certainly We created man of an extract of clay, Then We made him a small seed in a firm resting-place, Then We made the seed a clot, then We made the clot a lump of flesh, then We made (in) the lump of flesh bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, then We caused it to grow into another creation, so blessed be Allah, the best of the creators. Then after that you will most surely die. Then surely on the day of resurrection you shall be raised. Holy Qur’an (23:12-16)Referring to the above verses in the Qur’an, Dr. Keith Moore of the University of Toronto says:

“This verse from the Koran states that God made you from a drop and then changed the drop into a leech-like structure which soon changed into a chewed like substance that then took the shape of bone and was clothed with flesh.”

To illustrate his point about the accuracy of the Qur’an, Dr. Moore lined up a picture of a leech and a picture of a human embryo at 24 days old to show the striking similarity between the two. Similarly, he compared the human embryo at 28 days with a plasticine model of the embryo with teeth marks deliberately impressed on it and found the two to be quite Similar.

Then did he become a leech-like clot; then did (GOD) make and fashion (him) in due proportion. Holy Qur’an (75:38)

And made his progeny from a quintessence of the nature of a fluid despised: Holy Qur’an (32:8)Dr. Moore then turns his attention to the mention in the Qur’an (75:38) that humans are created from a nutfa, a tiny drop of fluid, which gushed forth, and that God made the progeny of men from “an extraction of despised fluid (32:8).”

November 16, 2006 — moralsandethics
Every second is worth reading this mail…An atheist professor of philosophy speaks to his class on the problem science has with God, The Almighty. He asks one of his new students to stand and…..

Prof:

So you believe in God?

Student:Absolutely, sir.Prof

: Is God good?

Student:Sure.

Prof:Is God all-powerful?

Student: Yes.

Prof: My brother died of cancer even though he prayed to God to heal him. Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill. But God didn’t. How is this God good then? Hmm?(Student is silent.)Prof:

You can’t answer, can you? Let’s start again, young fella. Is God good?

Student:Yes.

Prof:Is Satan good?

Student: No.

Prof:Where does Satan come from?

Student:From…God…

Prof:That’s right. Tell me son, is there evil in this world?

Student:Yes.

Prof:Evil is everywhere, isn’t it? And God did make everything. Correct?

Student:Yes.

Prof:So who created evil?(Student does not answer.)

Prof:Is there sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these terrible things exist in the world, don’t they?

Student:Yes, sir.

Prof:So, who created them?(Student has no answer.)

Prof: Science says you have 5 senses you use to identify and observe the world around you.Tell me, son…Have you ever

seen God?

Student:No, sir.

Prof:Tell us if you have ever heard your God?

Student:No, sir.

Prof:Have you ever felt your God, tasted your God, smelt your God?Have you ever had any sensory perception of God for that matter?

Student:No, sir. I’m afraid I haven’t.

Prof:Yet you still believe in Him?

Student:Yes.

Prof:According to empirical, testable, demonstrable protocol, science says your GOD doesn’t exist.

What do you say to that, son?

Student:Nothing. I only have my faith.

Prof:Yes. Faith. And that is the problem science has.

Studentrofessor, is there such a thing as heat?

Prof:Yes.

Student: And is there such a thing as cold?

Prof: Yes.

Student:No sir. There isn’t.(The lecture theatre becomes very quiet with this turn of events.)

Student: Sir, you can have lots of heat, even more heat, superheat, mega heat, white heat, a little heat or no heat.

But we don’t have anything called cold. We can hit 458 degrees below zero which is no heat, but we can’t goany further after that. There is no such thing as cold . Cold is only a word we use to describe the absence of heat

. We cannot measure cold. Heat is energy . Cold is not the opposite of heat, sir, just the absence of it . (There is pin-drop silence in the lecture theatre.)

Student:What about darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as darkness?

Prof:Yes. What is night if there isn’t darkness?

Student :You’re wrong again, sir. Darkness is the absence of something. You can have low light, normal light, bright

light, flashing light….But ifyou have no light constantly, you have nothing and it’s called darkness, isn’t it? Inreality, darkness isn’t. If it were you would be able to makedarkness darker, wouldn’t you?Prof:So what is the point you are making, young man?

Student:Sir, my point is your philosophical premise is flawed.

Prof:Flawed? Can you explain how?

Student:Sir, you are working on the premise of duality. You argue there is life and then there is death, a good God and a bad God. You are viewing the concept of God as something finite, something we can measure. Sir, science can’t even explain a thought. It uses electricity and magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood either one.To view death as the opposite of life is to be ignorant of the fact that death cannot exist as a substantive thing. Death is not the opposite of life: just the absence of it.Now tell me, Professor.Do you teach your students that they evolved from a monkey?

Prof: If you are referring to the natural evolutionary process, yes, of course, I do.

Student:Have you ever observed evolution with your own eyes, sir?(The Professor shakes his head with a smile, beginning to realize where the argument is going.)

Student:Since no one has ever observed the process of evolution at work and cannot even prove that this process is an on-going endeavor, are you not teaching your opinion, sir? Are you not a scientist but a preacher? (The class is in uproar.)

Student:Is there anyone in the class who has ever seen the Professor’s brain?(The class breaks out into laughter.)

Student: Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Professor’s brain, felt it, touched or smelt it? No one appears to have done so. So, according to the established rules of empirical, stable, demonstrable protocol, science says that you have no brain, sir. With all due respect, sir, how do we then trust your lectures, sir?(The room is silent. The professor stares at the student, his face unfathomable.) Prof:I guess you’ll have to take them on faith, son.

Student:That is it sir…

The link between man & god is FAITH .

That is all that keeps things moving & alive. NB: I believe you have enjoyed the conversation…and if so…you’ll probably want your friends/colleagues to enjoy the same…won’t you?….

Modern Science finds God(Perhaps the most important and astounding scientific discovery in human history.)

There was a time when science seemed to be the enemy of religious belief – that time is no more! Modern physics and cosmology (science of the origin and development of the universe) now provide firm objective evidence of the existence of God, confirm the primary attributes of God, and show how God created the physical existence out of ‘nothingness’. This knowledge comes from a critical analysis of the ‘Big Bang’ theory, Einstein’s Special Theory of Relativity, and work being done in quantum physics. The concepts behind this esoteric scientific knowledge can now be presented in such a way as to be understood by any person with a modern education.

We now know according to the most widely accepted theories of cosmology that the physical universe we see today was created out of nothingness (meaning – no time, no space, and no matter).
We also know that the beginning of the creation of the universe took place by light coming into existence at a singularity (a point with no dimension).
We know that the matter of the physical universe was brought into being by photons (little packages of light energy) which, when colliding with each other, formed the virtually infinite number of protons, neutrons and electrons, which in various combinations make up everything in our physical world.
In essence we can now accurately say that all the matter of the physical universe, ourselves included, is actually light slowed down.
We know that the space which contains our physical universe is expanding. This is a concept so alien to human thought that until Albert Einstein developed his General Theory of Relativity early in the 20th century it had never occurred to any of the world’s great minds, but was stated in the Qur’an over 1400 years ago when Allah told us, “I am expanding the universe with my power”. Even Einstein was so astounded by his discovery that he falsified his data to show a universe that was not expanding, because he well understood that an expanding universe implies there was somewhere in the distant past a moment of creation for the universe.
Einstein’s Special Theory of Relativity (which he actually called his Absolutism Theorem because he realized he had found the one thing in a relative universe that was absolute) is about the special qualities of light.
The Special Theory of Relativity allows us our first objective glimpse into that which exists beyond the material world.
We could have found anything once we got our first glimpse beyond the material world, but what we did find is indeed remarkable. We find Einstein’s Special Theory of Relativity showing us that the non-material existence beyond the physical world consists only of absolutes, and some of those absolutes are remarkably similar to what everyone’s religion has considered to be among the primary attributes of God.
Example One: As the speed of light (300,000km per second) is approached then time slows, and at the speed of light time does not pass. This means for a photon of light which travels at exactly the speed of light, time does not pass. Therefore the photon is outside of time, and ETERNAL.
Example Two: Since no time passes for a photon of light, and that photon can be observed at different places in space, therefore that photon of light is simultaneously in those different places (and many other places) at the same time, and therefore OMNIPRESENT.
Example Three: Since every bit of matter in the physical universe is created by the energy of light, and that light energy constantly sustains and directs the activity of every bit of matter in the physical existence, then there is no power other than the power of light, light energy is all the power that exists, and therefore OMNIPOTENT.
Example Four: Since all knowledge that exists, that ever existed, or will exist, is stored by light energy and transmitted through light energy then there is no knowledge beyond that intrinsic to light, and therefore OMNISCIENT.
Furthermore, light does not actually exist within the physical existence although we can somehow perceive it. As you approach the speed of light one of the three dimensions (length, height, or width), the dimension in line with the direction of motion, becomes progressively less, and at the speed of light that dimension becomes zero. To determine volume we multiply height times width times length, but if any one of those three dimensions is zero then the volume is zero, and that thing therefore does not exist in the material universe. Light occupies no volume of space and therefore has no existence in the physical universe.
And, while everything in the physical universe has some mass greater than zero, which is a necessary characteristic for existence in the material world, light has no mass at all. As you approach the speed of light mass increases, at the speed of light mass is infinite. Regardless of how tiny the amount of mass you begin with, that mass rises to infinity at the speed of light. Since photons travel at the speed of light and do not reach infinite mass it means that they had zero mass to begin with, and light therefore does not actually exist in the material world.
In the physical existence everything is relative, the absolute existence or non-existence of any quality is not and can not be expressed, everything exists between those two extremes of the continuum from absolute expression to absolute non-expression. We find, though, that beyond the material existence all qualities exist either in an infinite state or have no existence at all, there is nothing in between.

The great significance of the above findings is that they destroy any possible notion of the physical universe existing as a fixed number of material particles which are moved about by a fixed set of physical laws. It is exactly this incorrect understanding of the physical existence which forms the basis of the scientific philosophy of materialism. It is the philosophy of materialism, particularly secular materialism, which has allowed the belief in God to be so powerfully challenged by unbelievers in these past few hundred years, more or less from the time of Sir Isaac Newton.

It is no longer intellectually possible nor logically reasonable, in light of the finding of modern physics and cosmology, to hold the view of the atheists (that there is no God). The only logically reasonable, and intellectually honest, conclusion that can be drawn from the findings of modern science is that God does exist, that the attributes of God are absolute, and that God did create the physical universe (including human life). We are presently at the beginning of the transition point from a secular materialistic world-view to a spiritual, God-centered world-view.

NOTE: These are only some of the simplified conclusions of a major work in progress, but we felt they are of such great significance that we had an obligation to offer them to the ummah (the human society of Allah’s Creation). The scientific facts behind these interpretations represent a virtual consensus by a number of the world’s leading physicists, including several Nobel Prize winning theoretical physicists. The interpretations themselves are at the cutting-edge of Islamic theological thought, but have so far been very warmly received by Muslim scholars across the world.

The Pillars of Islam
By Aleem Faizee

The word ISLAM is derived from the Arabic word “SALEMA” which means peace, submission, purity and obedience. Islam means, therefore, submission to the will of Allah and obedience to His law. A Muslim must follow rules prescribed by Allah, the Almighty through His Prophet (PBUH). There are five compulsory principles to be followed by every Muslim.

The Prophet of Allah said: Islam is based on (the following) five (principles):

1. To testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and Muhammad is Allah’s Apostle.

2. To offer the (compulsory congregational) prayers dutifully and perfectly.

3. To pay Zakat (i.e. obligatory charity).

4. To observe fast during the month of Ramadan.

5. To perform Hajj (i.e. Pilgrimage to Makkah).

(Sahih Al-Bukhari; Narrated by Ibn Umar)

1. What is TAUHEED:

Tauheed is the creed. It is the commitment and pledge that there is no god but Allah and Mohammad (PBUH) is the messenger of Allah.

This is the proclamation that everyone in the world has to make. The announcement that there is no god we worship but Allah and Mohammad (PBUH) is the messenger of Allah.

The Holy Qur’aan says:

“Believe in Allah and His Apostle and spend [in charity] out of the [substance] whereof He has made you heirs. For those of you who believe and spend [in charity] for them is a great Reward.”

(Surah Al-Hadid; Ayah 7)

Abu Malik says; “ I heard the Prophet of Allah [PBUH] say: He who professed that there is no god but Allah and made a denial of everything which the people worship besides Allah, his property and blood became inviolable, and their affairs rest with Allah.”

(Sahih Muslim)

Proclaiming this, everyone owe to Almighty Allah and if one does not do this he will be doing shirk with Allah and it is strictly denounced for anyone in the world to worship other than Allah.

2. What is SALAT:

Salat is the prayers, five times in a day, to be observed compulsorily by every Muslim.

The Holy Qur’aan says:

“Guard strictly [five obligatory] prayers especially the middle prayer and stand before Allah in a devout [frame of mind].”

(Surah Al-Baqarah; Ayah 238)

It is made compulsory for Muslim males, unless one has some valid reason, to offer all five prayers in the mosque. The Prophet had even granted the women to go to mosque and offer their prayers.

The Prophet said:

"If your women ask permission to go to the mosque at night, allow them."

(Sahih Al-Bukhari; Narrated by Ibn Umar)

Offering prayers five times daily is so important an act

that one cannot abandon offering it even during the war. It is

compulsory till the last breathe of a Muslim. But Allah,

The Creature knows human weaknesses and therefore gives clear and specific instructions for offering prayers if a person is ill or if Muslims are in war.

3. What is ZAKAT:

Zakat is the percentage of the wealth and property to be separated by a Muslim, which is distributed to poor and kept for other rightful beneficiaries and expenditure of a Muslim government. This is an annual Tax and is compulsory for Muslims who have sufficient wealth. Islam has specific and very clear directives for the percentage of Zakat.

The Holy Qur’aan says:

“And they have been commanded no more than this, to worship Allah offering Him sincere devotion being true [in faith]; to establish regular prayer; and to practice regular Zakat [charity] and that is the right religion and straight.”

(Surah Al-Baiyina; Ayah 5)

4. What is SAUM:

Saum is the fasting to be observed by every Muslim in the month of Ramdhan.

The Holy Qur’aan says:

“O you who believe! Observing fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed to those before you, that you may become Al-Muttaqeen [learn self-restrain].”

(Surah Al-Baqarah; Ayah 183)

5. What is HAJJ:

Hajj is the pilgrimage to Makkah once in a lifetime. It is made compulsory for those Muslims anywhere in the world who can bear the expenses of the pilgrimage financially and physically.

The Holy Qur’aan says:

“In it are signs manifest; [for example] the Station of Abraham; whoever enters it attains security; pilgrimage thereto is a duty men owe to Allah those who can afford the journey; but if any deny faith Allah stands not in need of any of his creatures.”

(Surah Al-Imran: Ayah 97)

Tauheed and Knowledge

Civilisation, and the idea of Khilafah and Tamkeen

(Establishing)

The freewill of man leads to the realisation of the oneness of Allah. This freewill is a gift from Allah swt, scientists have been given this special gift because the Qur’an talks about studying the signs of Allah for those people who reflect and ponder and go to the heart of the matter.

In Islam, it is clear that the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. This social aspect leads to establishing a community. Reflecting the attributes of Allah in this life and extending this to the community is a duty incumbent on every Muslim. To emulate the qualities of Allah swt as far as is possible without diving into the dangerous territories of shirk.

It is also clear from the study of the Qur’an and its revelation to the Prophet (PBUH) and its further propagation through history that Islam has to end up as a civilisation. There has to be a contribution to this civilisation in order for its permanence to be established. Which leaves us with the inevitable question of what the role of the Muslims is today? Indeed, the duties of a Muslim are the working towards the establishment of the permanence of an Islamic Civilisation.

Vision for the Future

Ibn Khaldun mentions “The conquered always run after the conquerors”, this reflects the nature of man to be enslaved and us as Muslims to choose our Master to be Allah swt. Having outlined the goal above, it is important to have a vision for the future. But being in a conquered frame of thought, it is difficult to think outside the box of the secular framework, in the broadest sense. Strategising a solution is difficult because the solution is influenced by western ideologies making our behaviour predictable. This raised the question of how we should boot strap this vision and this strategy? One way is to question the things around us on every possible level. Self-determination and self-development is the key to gaining independence from this situation. The challenges are great, it is important to appreciate, and the barriers immense. But it is essential for Muslims today to work towards this independence of thought and take the first step by throwing the topic onto the discussion table and coming up with a few ideas.

Having a Strategic Framework

Surah 28, Al-Qassas: Verses 1-43. Allah swt tells us the story of the Prophet Musa (ah), one of the important messages derived from this that Allah swt is telling us to be proactive rather than reactive. In his (ah) dealings and guidance to the Bani Israel and his relationship and dialogue with the Firaun, we can derive several analogies from this incident in history. It is important to not that in delivering the Bani Israel from enslavement of the Firaun and exposing Firaun’s infallibility to put him in his place, Musa (ah) was give two ‘Burhaan’ at the time to do this, the Staff representing power, and the white hand representing purity.

Today, the Muslims in the west are the Musa (ah) of yesterday. Their goal, to deliver the Muslim Ummah from the masters or conquerors of today, freedom from enslavement and dependence of thought and action. The question being, how are we to realise our ‘Burhaan’, and this question is something that needs to be addressed.

Importance of Salat and the Five Pillars of Islam

Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani

Jumu`ah Khutba
Ramadan, 1419 - January 8, 1999
Fenton, Michigan

Alhamdulillah for the favor that He (swt) honored us with Islam, to be Muslims. To be Muslims is enough to be a pathway for us to Paradise, enough to at least put our first step in paradise.

Kalimat ash-Shahada

It is enough to say that you have reached the side of safety. When someone says that ‘I am a Muslim’ it means he or she accepted and admitted Kalimat at-Tawheed, Kalimat ash-Shahada, "ashhadu an la ilaha illa Allah wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan Rasulullah".

To become a Muslim means accept the shahada, or else you are not a Muslim. By saying "I am a Muslim" you have passed the first level. Then you have to go to the second level. It means you have said, "O Allah I admit that you are the Creator and I am your slave." Slave, not servant.

A servant is different from a slave: a servant is higher. That is a level that Allah did not give to anyone other than the Prophet (s). When he said subhan alladhi asra bi abdihi laylan min al-masjid al-haraam ila al-masjid al aqsa alladhee barakn hawlahu... - "Glory be to Him Who made His servant to go on a night from the Sacred Mosque to the remote mosque of which We have blessed the precincts…". [17: 2]

He called the Prophet (s) "`Abd". He specified him with that title. To be a slave is a lower level, because our Islam is not yet perfect. We accept to say kalimat shahada, we accept Allah (swt) as our Lord and Prophet Muhammad (s) as our Messenger. Yet, we are not doing what is supposed to be done. To do what is supposed to be done is a very important aspect of Islam, it is the most… when you say shahada when you declare Kalimat at Tauheed - how many times are you obliged to say it per day, week, month year, or lifetime how many times. You can say Kalimat at-Tauheed one time, it is enough not to say it all the time. You don’t need to repeat it every time, once is enough to put you into the circle of Islam. So Kalimat at-Tauheed, the first pillar of Islam, can be said only once in the whole lifetime - it is obligatory to say it once.

The second pillar of Islam is iqamu salat. We will to it come later.

Poor due - Zakat

The third pillar is ita'uz-zakat. Who can, must do it once a year. And you cannot do it if you don’t have money. If you are poor and you did not make enough profit--a certain amount of money that goes from one year to another--you are not obliged to take out your zakat. It is an obligation fard to be done once a year for those who are obliged to give because they have made on their money, money from one year, min al hawli il al-hawli. But if you did not, then you are not obliged to give it. If there is a poor person who cannot find food for one day's sustenance, you cannot expect him to have saved money on the side. This means some people will do it every year and some people will not do it. Who cannot afford to, is not obliged to do it.

Fasting - Siyam

Wa sawmu ramadan. Fasting, you are obliged to do it every year one time, for one month. And alhamdulillah Allah (swt) gave us this month to remember Him. And the Prophet (s) used to urge the Sahaba for itikaf in the last 10 days of that month. And many Muslims around the world do itikaf and they try to do their best to come closer to Allah (swt) and for Allah (swt) to be happy with us and to for us to be nearer to him in dunya and akhira. fa man kana minkum mareedan aw ala safarin fa iddatun min ayyamin ukhar- (Fast) a certain number of days; and (for) him who is sick among you, or on a journey, (the same) number of other days; [2: 184]. In that case Allah gave you permission to fulfill them later. If someone is continuously sick then he is excused. It means you have to do it once a year, but some people if they cannot fast, they do not have to do it--Allah is relieving them, excusing them.

Pilgrimage - Hajj

The fifth pillar wa hajj al-bayt li man istata ‘a ilahyi sabeela. Whoever can afford to do hajj who is physically and mentally and financially able to go, must perform it at least once in a lifetime.

Prayer - Salat

So on the other hand we see that salat, the second pillar of Islam-you cannot leave it. Five times a day you are obliged to do it and you cannot leave it for any reason. No reason. No excuse. there is a very severe penalty for leaving prayer. If you are sick and you don’t fast there is no penalty. If you are poor and you have no money to give zakat there is no penalty. If you cannot afford to go to hajj there is no penalty. But for leaving salat there is a very high penalty - hellfire. Ma bayn al-kufr wal iman tark al-salah, - What is between belief and disbelief is leaving prayer. So there is no way, no excuse for any sick person, for a person with or without money, he or she has to pray. Five prayers. The sick person who cannot pray standing can sit and pray; who cannot pray sitting prays lying down, one who can’t pray lying down may pray with his eyes. Salat has to be performed. Oh Muslims don’t avoid giving salat its importance. No.

`Ibadat 24x7

It is so very very important to Allah (swt) that He ordered and obliged 50 salat a day, not one. Allah ordered the Prophet (s) to perform fifty prayers, which means continuous worship. Wa ma khalaqta al-jinn wal ins illa liy`abudun. "And I have not created the jinn and the men except that they should worship Me."[51: 56]

If it was fifty and if it was still fifty, we would have no time even to raise our heads. Fifty salat, every salat, if you performed it correctly takes fifteen minutes. Fifty salat by fifteen minutes is 750 minutes plus eating, plus wudu for fifty prayers. So what is left? That is meaning of the ayah Wa ma khalaqta al-jinn wal ins illa liy`abudun. [51: 56]

Allah said fifty prayers but what is kayfiyya al-salah- how it is done, what are arkan as-salah the procedures? We know Fajr has two sunnah rakat; Dhuhr has eight or four; four sunnah before, `Asr has two or four sunnah, Maghrib has two; and eleven rakat for 'Isha. Then you have salat ad-Duha, salat al-Awwabin, salat al-Ishraq, salat an-Najat, Salat al-Tahajjud. Then the fifty other prayers also have their sunnah!

So all of your time 24 hours is going to be occupied.

That is the verse ma khalaqta al-jinn wal ins illa liy`abudun ma ureedu minhum min rizqin wa ureedu an yu`imun. inna Allahu hua ar-razzaqa dhul quwwat il-mateen - "I do not desire from them any sustenance and I do not desire that they should feed Me." Allah can give you, you cannot give anything. Don’t think you are going to work for your children, bringing money. If Allah wants to close it---it is finished---nothing. Submit. Allah gives. Allah provides. So 24 hours you are going to be in continuous `ibadat through salat, prayer.

Allah (swt) gave Sayyidina Muhammad (s) fifty salat but then with His mercy reduced it to five. But in the mizan, in the balance, the five salat are considered fifty. If we do our five prayers correctly with complete submission to Allah, complete presence (khush`u) then it as if we were peforming salat 24 hours a day, it is equal to fifty prayers. Then it will be written for us, in the mizan, Wa ma khalaqta al-jinn wal ins illa liy`abudun. You will be under the tajalli of that verse.

The key to the Mercy and Blessing of this verse for Allah (swt) to dress you with the blessings of this verse is five prayers which leads you to the fifty prayers which lead you to the verse of Qur’an: Wa ma khalaqta al-jinn wal ins illa liy`abudun.

Salat - Summation of Worship

Additionally, salat is very important because in it is contained the whole of `ibada. First in salat you declare the shahada the Oneness of Allah in at-Tahiyyat: ashhadu an la ilaha illa Allah wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan `abduhu wa rasuluh. To become a Muslim you say shahada only one time in your life. In your salat you are saying it every day in every two rak`at. So salat includes the first pillar of Islam, kalimat at-tauheed.

Salat as Zakat

Salah includes your zakat--not 2½ percent but 100% percent. Because when you work and make money and go from one year to another year you are only obliged to give 2 ½ percent of the profit--not the capital. You are going to give on what you have profit.

Out of your capital and it is 2½ percent. Whatever you have of jewelry and gold or any kind of savings is money on which you must give 2½ percent, from one year to another. But in salat you do not only give that. Because when you work you are spending time to go work five; six; eight hours a day making money, saving and then paying 2 ½ percent.

In salat you are giving your whole time to Allah swt. If you make ten dollars in one hour; if you spend one hour in salat, it is as if you are giving the entire ten dollars, not just 2 ½ percent. And the ten dollars might be spent and won’t last for one year and you don’t pay any zakat on it, but the salat you are giving. You are giving the entire amount so it is in a geometrical multiplication that increases from 2½ percent to 100%. That is real zakat! You are giving everything that belongs to you. And the most important thing that belongs to you is when Allah gave you the body and this spirit--you are giving to Allah (swt) you are giving to Allah’s will.

Salat as Siyam

Second in salat you are holding your tongue from eating, drinking, backbiting, speaking. Not only your tongue, but your whole body from touching. Because in siyam a man cannot approach his wife or vice versa, because it is not allowed. Eating is not allowed. In salat you cannot do anything like that. In siyam you can fast but you can also speak. In salat it is more you fast you cannot speak and you cannot approach your spouse. That is a higher level of fasting that is included in salat.

Visiting Ka`aba

The last pillar of Islam is hajj. In your prayer it is as if you are making pilgrimage five times a day. When you direct yourself to the qibla as soon as you say "Allahu Akbar."

Even in Makka near the end of the renovation of al-haram ash-sharif, you could not see the Ka’aba. And from outside Makka you cannot see the Ka’aba. Anywhere in Makka even you cannot see the Ka’aba. From outside Makka you can face the Ka’aba [without seeing it] and in Makka and in the haram you might face it without seeing it.

As if you are going on a trip through your salat because hajj is to visit the Holy Ka’aaba. Ziyarat al Ka’aba al-musharrafa.

The most important pillar (rukn) of hajj is to be in bayt ul haraam. So the most important thing for us is when we say "Allahu Akbar", is to see it through our hearts, through our mind, through every cell of our body and with every drop of our blood. EVERYTHING is saying "Allahu Akbar" in the presence of the Ka’aba, the House of Allah (swt) on earth, which Allah wanted people to face and direct themselves toward. Allah knows what kind of secrets and tajalli are there. So in your prayer it is as if you are directing yourself by disconnecting with the dunya and facing the Ka’aba. So it as if you have gone there for hajj.

So in salat you find all the five pillars of Islam. That is why you cannot be excused from leaving one prayer, else there will be heavy punishment. If you want heavy punishment that is up to you. If you want to save yourself, then Oh, Muslims let us keep our connection with Islam tight!

Wrapping it all up

Islam is five pillars. The Prophet (s) wrapped all of them, shahada, salah, zakat, siyam and hajj with two cords: iman bil ghayb, belief in the Unseen, and the state of ihsan - perfected character. These five pillars, which every Muslim performs, cannot be perfected without first tying up salat, prayer. That is because prayer includes all five pillars. One cannot perform the prayer properly when one's heart is dirty and damaged - when one's faith is damaged. It must be wrapped like a gift. When you look at a present, wrapped nicely from outside, it looks very pleasing, and when you open it, it is also very pleasing. So how are you presenting your prayers to Allah (swt) when your heart is not clean? Cleanliness of the heart by means of attaining the state of Iman and then the state of Ihsan is very essential. We will continue about that, insha ‘Allah another time.

In Arabic, Allah means literally the one God. It is pretty easy to understand how different languages give the same thing different names. Is it that unusual to hear Muslims call God another name, like "Allah", while you call him God or Lord? Some people have no minds; in the last decade, a growing phenomenon was seen on the internet and in published literature. Allah is said to be the “moon god” that Arabs worshiped, and Kaaba (The Muslims holiest place on Earth) is His temple. The evidence for this theory is the crescent that appears on the top of many mosques all over the world plus a fabricated picture of the "moon god".

This idea is very dangerous. If you believe that Muslims are worshiping an idol, then there is no basis even to talk to them. They are pagan idolaters like Hindus and Buddhists. It is alleged that although Islam is a monotheistic religion, the Muslims' only God is simply another idol that Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) chose (or in some versions of the story, he made it up).

To invalidate this foolish theory, one has to take the story from different angles.

The crescent is not a symbol of Islam, but of the Ottoman Empire. The Ottomans are those tribes that moved to Turkey from east and middle Asia. They converted to Islam and built a huge Muslim Empire that ruled the whole Muslim world for centuries. When they took Islam as a religion they started using the lunar calendar, the calendar that was used by Muslims, Jews and early Christians. Even today, the flag of Turkey has a crescent on it. There was no crescent on any mosque built before the Ottomans era.

Prophet Abraham built the Kaaba for people to worship God. While pagan Arabs admitted this fact and even kept the stone where he used to stand to build the Kaaba (Abraham's station), they brought idols to the Kaaba and worshiped them to get closer to Abraham's Lord, Allah, God of gods. Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) came with the monotheistic message of Islam. Arabs defended these idols and refused to give up the religion of their fathers and grandfathers. They offered to Muhammad a deal, that is to worship their gods for one year, and they worship Allah alone for one year. A chapter of the Quran came with the response from God to this evil invitation:

[Say : O ye that reject Faith! I worship not that which ye worship, Nor will ye worship that which I worship. And I will not worship that which ye have been wont to worship, Nor will ye worship that which I worship. To you be your Way, and to me mine. ]109:1-6

Later on, the Quran started calling Allah by other names. One of those holy names was Al-Rahman (the Gracious). Arabs wondered:"is this a new God?" The Quran responded again:

[Say: "Call upon Allah, or call upon Rahman: by whatever name ye call upon Him, (it is well): for to Him belong the Most Beautiful Names. ]17:110

It is not a new god; it is a new name for the same God. Allah has ninety nine names in Islam; all of them are holy and speak about different attributes of the same creator, almighty Allah. As an example, read these verses of the Quran:

[Allah is He, than Whom there is no other god; Who knows (all things) both secret and open; He, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

Allah is He, than Whom there is no other god; the Sovereign, the Holy One, the Source of Peace (and Perfection), the Guardian of Faith, the Preserver of Safety, the Exalted in Might, the Irresistible, the Supreme: Glory to Allah! (High is He) above the partners they attribute to Him.

He is Allah, the Creator, the Evolver, the Bestower of Forms (or Colours). To Him belong the Most Beautiful Names: whatever is in the heavens and on earth, doth declare His Praises and Glory; and He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.]59:22-24

When Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) came back to Mecca, he entered the city peacefully on the top of an army of 10,000 men, exactly as the Bible described him "pre-eminent above ten thousand." (Solomon 5:10). He did not burn a single home; he did not harm a single person; he just went to the Kaaba and destroyed all the gods Arabs had there. He kept nothing in the Kaaba. Where is this picture of the moon god coming from? I don't know. Did anyone of the pagan Arabs have a digital camera by then?

There is evidence that the word Allah existed before the birth of Muhammad PBUH for thousands of years. It is probably the oldest name man used to call God. Most likely, Adam used the word Allah to call the Lord. On the other hand, the word "GOD" was born with the English language, less than ten centuries ago. Can we say that all English speaking nations are pagans because they use the word "God"? What about Chinese monotheists? How should they call God?

Prophet Muhammad's father’s name was Abdullah (The slave of Allah). This name was common among Arab pagans and Jews. Abdullah bin Salam was one of the first Jews to convert to Islam in Medina. When Arabs call Allah in prayer they say: “Ya Allah” or “Allahoma”. Aren't these words familiar to you? “Alleluia” and “Elohim” are the words used to call Allah in the Bible. In Hebrew, the suffix im means many. So Elohim literally means many Allah(s). This is a known way to express dignity and respect to almighty Allah by calling Him pleural. This phenomenon is known in Hebrew, Arabic, English and other languages. In Quran, the same pattern is seen many times. For example, God says in the holy Quran:

[ We have, without doubt, sent down the Message; and We will assuredly guard it (from corruption). ]15:9.

In the English translation of the Bible, you read, "Let us make man in our image”-Genesis 1:26-KJV.

The word Allah is used in all Arabic translations of the Bible. It was used in some English translations of the Bible like the original "Scofield Reference Bible"-reference: what is his name? by Deedat. In the New Testament, Jesus is believed to cry before his death "ELOI, ELOI, LAMA SABACHTHANI?” Eloi is the exact Arabic word "Elahi" which comes from the same root as Allah.

I have no doubt that the word "Allah" is the oldest known name man called God with. For those who choose to ignore this fact and transgress, Muslims have nothing to offer. Allah says in the holy Quran:

[If any, after this, invent a lie and attribute it to Allah, they are indeed unjust wrong-doers.] 3:94

For Muslims, Allah is perfect. He has no partners. We worship Him and Him alone. Our faith is summarized in the holy Quran:

[Say: He is Allah, the One and Only; Allah, the Eternal, Absolute; He begetteth not, nor is He begotten; And there is none like unto Him.]112:1-4

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu, dear muslims!!!

Well, establishing Khilafah is claimed to be fard kifaiyah, here I am not arguing about it being fard or not and I assume it is. So, for fulfilling this fard there must be the way established in the sunnah of Allah’s Mesenger SAW, right? Can someone show me that way, please? As we know there are two conditions of ibadah, sincerity and conformity with sunnah. So, is the second condition established here? If we do something that was not done by Allah’s Mesenger SAW or his companions, then it is bida’ah, correct? Does somebody want to get involved into bida’ah? Islam is complete and it covers all the aspects of life, it details how to worship Allah SWT, can someone show me please how to establish Khilfah? If one of the two conditions are not met, the deed won’t be accepted, agree? Is anybody willing to be doing something and get all his/her job rejected by Allah SWT? So, instead of trying to establish Khilafah in a way, I see no evidences for, I would rather do something that would earn me a reward, for example I would just make love with my wife and get reward! Logical? So legal *** would be my choice here, but not establishing Khilafah! Sounds strange? I would like to ask Fazza and Hassana to participate here, please. J Looking forward to sound discussion, brothers and sistersJ Hope nobody gets hurt by me. J

The Method to Re-Establish the Khilafah
The Islamic ideology has come with a comprehensive solution to all aspects of life and has not left any problem without a solution. Most of the verses of the Qur’an have come in a concise manner, and the Messenger of Allah (saw) has elaborated them and outlined the method of their implementation.

Hence, every single Shari’ah rule that represents an idea must have a method that outlines the manner by which it is executed. In order to please Allah (swt), it is imperative to take the method from Islam, for Allah (swt) says: T.M.Q. “Whatever the Messenger brought to you take it, and whatever he prohibited for you abstain from it.” [59-7]

Therefore, whenever we want to implement any Shari'ah rule, we are obliged to refer to the Messenger of Allah (saw), in order to recognise the method of its execution. This is so because it is the Messenger of Allah (saw) who demonstrated to us through his actions the manners by which the rules that Allah (swt) has decreed are executed, and because Allah (swt) has commanded us to refer to His the Messenger in this matter.

Therefore, the method of establishing the Islamic State must be recognised through the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (saw), which includes his saying, actions and consent.

By reviewing the Sirah of the Messenger of Allah (saw), we deduce that he (saw) has followed a clear path, ever since Allah (swt) sent him with the message of Islam and until he established the Islamic State that existed for more than thirteen centuries as the leader of the world.

Here is a summary of the steps that the Messenger of Allah (saw) trod, so that we may proceed accordingly, while supplicating Allah (swt) to grant us success in establishing the Islamic State, which will be the basis for our revival and might and our felicity in this life and in the Hereafter.

By reviewing the method of the Messenger of Allah (saw) in establishing the State, we find that he (saw) proceeded in three periods:

The First Period:

This period started as soon as the Qur’an was revealed to the Messenger of Allah (saw) and as soon as he received the divine command to start spreading the call to Islam and to work towards establishing the Islamic State that brings Islam into existence and dominion in the realm of life.
Allah (swt) says: T.M.Q. “Arise and deliver your warning.” [74-2] The Da'awah of the Messenger of Allah (saw) was characterised in this period with an individual approach. It was noticed that the Messenger of Allah (saw) used to target his acquaintances and friends and generally the people that were close to him. It was also noticed that he (saw) used to strongly stress on the Aqeedah. The Messenger of Allah (saw) used to explain to whoever believed in him the corruption of the prevalent Kufr doctrines, and explain through the rational proof and the Qur’an, the triviality of worshipping the idols. He (saw) used to also bring glad tidings to the believers about Heaven and warn them against Hell. This continued for three years, during which a group of people numbering about 40 believed in the Da'awah of the Messenger of Allah (saw). It was reported that they used to meet in the house of Al-Arqam, where the Messenger of Allah (saw) used to culture them with Islam and develop their mentality and disposition, until he turned them into Islamic personalities, who lived for Islam and refusing to live but under the shade of Islam.

The individual Da'awah, the culturing and the preparation and shaping of those who believed in him (saw) continued until Allah (swt) ordered the Messenger of Allah (saw) to undertake a host of new actions, in addition to these actions he had already been assiduously undertaking. Hence the move towards a new period began.

The Second Period:

This period started when Allah (swt) ordered the Messenger of Allah (saw) to address society with his Da'awah, not in an individual manner, but in a collective manner, and to reveal his bloc or his group to people. This was after three years of he had been sent with the Message of Islam. Allah (swt) says: T.M.Q. “And warn your nearest kinsmen * And lower your wing to the believers who follow you.” [26-214,215]

Allah (swt) also says: T.M.Q “And say I am indeed he who warns openly and without ambiguity.” [15-89]

Allah (swt) also says: T.M.Q. “So expound openly what you are commanded and turn away from the polytheists.” [15-94].

No sooner these verses descended upon the Messenger of Allah (saw), than he started the period of interaction and confrontation with society. In a book by Abdu-s-Salam Haroun, entitled “The Refinement of the Sirah of Ibnu Hisham” the author mentions the following on page 112: “When the Messenger of Allah (saw) initiated the call to Islam to his people as he had been ordered by Allah (swt), his folk did not snub him, nor did they react to his initiative until he mentioned their idols and belittled them. When he did this, they found it very painful and distressing, thus they censured him and consented to contradict and estrange him.”

During this period, the intellectual struggle continued a struggle between the thoughts of Islam and the thoughts of Kufr. The political struggle also continued and the Messenger of Allah (saw) exposed the corruption and the crimes perpetrated by the leaders of Quraysh. The Messenger of Allah (saw) used to rebuke the worship of idols that brought neither good nor evil, while reciting from the Qur’an Allah’s (swt) saying: T.M.Q. “You and the false gods you worship besides Allah are but fuel for Hell.” [21-98]

Quraysh started to harm the Messenger of Allah (saw) and his companions, especially those who had no protection from amongst them such as the family of Yassir, Bilal and others. The torture was intense and successive and the Muslims made huge sacrifices and offered martyrs for the sake of Islam. Quraysh remained stubborn and persisted on her Kufr. Society in Quraysh became petrified and unmoved and the words of the Messenger of Allah (saw) went unnoticed. When matters worsened for the Muslims and the hardship intensified, the Messenger of Allah (saw) started to look for a more fertile ground for his Da'awah and for people who would protect his Da'awah and the members of group from among the believers, and who would support his Deen. This became known as the seeking of protection and Nussrah. The Messenger of Allah (saw) attempted to seek the Nussrah several times, but he failed in every occasion. He used to be greeted in the worst manner and repelled in the harshest way. No tribe would accept to support him, except the tribe of Bani Amer Ibnu Saasaa who stipulated that they should inherit the reins of power once he is gone. The Messenger of Allah (saw) answered them by saying that the matter is in the hands of Allah (swt), to place wherever He wished. This continued for a while until Allah (swt) paved the way for His Messenger through a group from Al-Aws and Al-Khazraj, who gave him the first pledge of Al-Aqabah, which was known as the Baya’a of Women. In this Baya’a, this group from Al-Aws and Al-Khazraj, who numbered twelve, gave their pledge to the Messenger of Allah (saw) that they would associate none with Allah (swt), that they would not fornicate, nor steal and the like. The Messenger of Allah (saw) then sent Musab Ibnu Umayr with this group to Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah, to culture them with Islam and to call people to it. Saad Ibnu Muath and Asaad Ibnu Zurarah responded positively to his call and Islam spread in Al-Madinah. Then the Second Pledge of Al-Aqabah took place, and it was known as the Baya’a of war, because this group from Al-Aws And Al-Khazraj, who numbered 73 and two women, gave the pledge to the Messenger of Allah (saw) to fight all people and they pledged to protect him if he were to emigrate to them in Al-Madinah.

The Third Period:

This period started with the emigration of the Messenger of Allah (saw) to Al-Madinah, where he established the nucleus of the Islamic State, which fought the battles and laid down the foundations of the greatest State of the greatest Deen in history.

This is the path in which the Messenger of Allah (saw) proceeded, with its clear three periods, since he started calling for the ideology that was revealed to him by Allah (swt) through Jibril (peace be upon him), until he succeeded with the help of Allah (swt) in establishing the Islamic State that implemented Islam in Al-Madinah and carried it by way of Jihad to the rest of the Arabic peninsula and then to the rest of the world.

Therefore, the Muslims must work towards establishing the Islamic State in order to revive the Islamic Ummah, according to the same method of the Messenger of Allah (saw). This is achieved through the study of the Sirah of the Messenger of Allah (saw) and through the perception of the Shari’ah rules listed in the Qur’an and the Sunnah, in an aware and accurate manner, so that they may acquire the sound awareness that leads to the fruitful work, that achieves the pleasure of Allah (swt) and leads to the revival of the Muslims.

CHAPTER II - KALIMAH TAYYIBAH

Kalimah Tayybah, which is also called Kalimah Tauheed (utterance of Unity), has been mentioned in the Qur'an and the Hadith far more frequently than anything else. Since all the saints and Prophets had been sent specifically with the primary aim of propagating the Unity of Allah, its excessive mention can well be understood. In the Holy Qur'an, this Kalimah has been referred to by various names and in different contexts. It has been referred to as kalimah Tayybah (sacred utterance), (complete statement) (utterance of piety), (key of the heaven and earth), etc; as will be found in the Qur'anic verses given in the following pages. Imaam Ghazali (Rahmatullah alaih) has written in his book 'IHYA' that it is (utterance of Unity), (sacred utterance) (Strong rope), (call of truth), (price of paradise).

As this kalimah has been mentioned in various contexts in the Holy Qur'an, this chapter is divided into three parts. The first part includes those verses wherein the words of kalimah Tayybah do not occur, although it is implied therein. Each verse is followed by a brief explanation, as given by the Sahaba and by Rasulullah (Sallallaho alaihe wasallam) himself.
The second part consists of those verses which contain the text of kalimah Tayybah i.e. (la illaha ila Allah) in full, or slightly modified, such as (la ilaha but Him) as the words of kalimah occur in these verses, their translation has not been considered necessary. Only the Surah and 'Ruku', in which the Ayat occurs, has been indicated. The third part includes the translation and explanation of those Ahadith that describe the virtues and importance of this Kalimah. (Whatever has been done is merely through Allah's grace).

PART - 1

This contains those Ayaat in which the words of Kalimah Tayybah do not occur, although it is implied therein:
(1) Seest thou not how Allah explains through a parable. Good words are like good tree that is firmly rooted and its branches reach the sky. It brings fruit at all times, under order from its Lord. So Allah explains through parables for men that they may take heed. The parable of evil words is like an evil tree. It is torn up by the root from the surface of the Earth. It has no stability.

Note:
Hazrat Ibne Abbas (Radhiallaho anho) has explained that the words "Kalimah Tayybah" in this Ayat mean Kalimah Shahadat, which is like a tree with its roots in he hearts of the Faithful and its branches spread out up to Heaven, by means of which the deeds of the faithful climb up to Heaven; and (ugly utterance) is the utterance of Shirk, which prevents any good deed from being accepted. In another Hadith, it is stated by Ibne Abbas that "bearing of fruit all the time" means that Almighty Allah be remembered day and night.

It was narrated by Hazrat Katadah Tabiee (Rahmatullah alaih) that somebody had said to Rasulullah (Sallallaho alaihe wasallam), "The rich are able to earn great rewards (by virtue of spending their wealth in charity)"
Rasulullah (Sallallaho alaihe wasallam) replied, "Tell me if anybody can reach the sky by piling up his goods one over the other. I tell you of something, which has its roots in the Earth and its branches spread out into the Heaven. It is recitation of the 'Kalimah' ( La ilaha illaLlah wallahu Akbar wa subhanallahi wal-hamdulillah) ten items each after every Salaat

(2) Whosoever desires glory and power (should know) that glory and all powers belong to Allah; Unto Him good words ascend and he exalts all righteous deeds.
According to the majority of commentators, the kalimah Tayybah in this Ayat means ( there is no God but Allah), but some are of the opinion that it implies the Kalimah of Tasbih as will be described in part II.

(3) The word of thy Lord finds its fulfillment in truth and in justice.
According to Anas (Radhiallaho anho), Rasulullah (Sallallaho alaihe wasallam) had said that he Kalimah of the Lord means the Kalimah (La ilaha illaLlah). But many commentators are of the opinion that it means the Holy Qur'an.

(4) Allah will confirm those who believe in words that stand firm, in this world and in the Hereafter, and Allah sends wrong doers astray. Allah does what He wills.

Hazrat Baraa (Radhiallaho anho) stated that Rasulullah (Sallallaho alaihe wasallam) had said, "At the time of interrogation in the grave, a Muslim bears witness to (La ilaha illaLlah Muhammadur-Rasulullah) and this is meant by the words (complete statement) in this Ayat.

Hazrat Aisha (Radhiallaho anha) also corroborated that it refers to the interrogation in the grave. Hazrat Ibne Abbas (Radhiallaho anho) said, "When a Muslim is about to die, the angels come to him, greet him, and convey the glad tidings of paradise; after his death, they accompany him and join his funeral prayer; and after the is buried, they make him sit up when in the grave questioning starts. He replies
(I bear witness that there is nobody worthy of worship except Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah). This is what is implied in this Ayat.

Hazrat Abu Katadah, (Radhiallaho anho) also said that (complete statement) refers to kalimah Tayyibah in this life, and the interrogation in the grave after death. Hazrat Taoos (Radhiallaho anho) also gave the same interpretation.

(5) Unto Him is the real prayer. Those unto whom they pray besides Allah respond to them not at all. They are like those who stretch forth their hands for water to reach their mouths but it reaches them not. The prayer of disbelievers astray.

Note: According to Hazrat Ali (Radhiallaho anho) as well as Ibn-Abbas and many others, the words (propagation of truth) means this kalimah.

(6) Say: O, people of scriptures! Come to an agreement between us and you; that we shall worship none but Allah and that we shall ascribe no partner unto Him, and none of us shall take others for Lords beside Allah. And if you turn away, bear witness that we (at least) are Muslims. (Al-Imraan, 64)

Note: This sacred Ayat is self-explanatory, in that the word kalimah in this implies Tauheed and kalimah Tayyabah. The same viewpoint has been categorically confirmed by Abu al Aalya and Mujahid (Radhiallaho anhuma)

(7) You are the best of people, evolved for mankind, enjoining what is right, forbidding what is wrong and believing in Allah. If only the people of scriptures had faith. It were best for them; among them are some who have faith most of them are transgressors.

Note: Hazrat Ibni-Abbas has stated (i.e. you enjoin the good means that you enjoin the people to believe in (La ilaha illaLlah) and obey Almighty Allah; and that this kalimah is by far the best and foremost of tall the good things.

(8) Establish regular prayer at the two ends of the day and at the approaches of the night. Lo! Good deeds annul ill deeds. This is a reminder for the mindful.

Note: The Explanation of this sacred Ayat is to be found in many Ahadith according to which Rasulullah (Sallallaho alaihe wasallam) while referring to this Ayat had said that good deeds wipe out the sins from one's account. Hazrat Abuzar (Radhiallaho anho) says that he had once requested Rasulullah (Sallallaho alaihe wasallam) to give him some advice and Rasulullah (Sallallaho alaihe wasallam) replied, "Hold Almighty Allah in constant fear. If per chance you commit any sin, hasten at once to do some virtuous deed so that the sin is atoned, and it is written off." Then Abuzar (Radhiallaho anho) continues to say that he asked Rasulullah (Sallallaho alaihe wasallam) if this kalimah (La ilaha illaLlah) was also counted amongst the virtues. At this, Rasulullah (Sallallaho alaihe wasallam) gave the reply that this Kalimah is the highest of all virtues. It is likewise quoted from Hazrat Anas (Radhiallaho anho) that Rasulullah (Sallallaho alaihe wasallam) had said, "whosoever, any time during the day or night, recited the kalimah (La ilaha illaLlah), his sins are washed off his account."

(9) a- Lo! Allah enjoineth justice and kindness and giving to kinsfolk. He forbids shameful deeds, injustice and rebellion. He instructs you in order that you take heed.

Note: There are different versions regarding the interpretation of the word (justice). In one version, Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas (Radhiallaho anho) says that justice means to believe that nobody is worthy of worship except Allah, while (goodness) means to do one's obligations to Allah.

(10) O, you who believe! Fear Allah and say words straight to the point that He may make your conduct sound and forgive your sins. Whosoever obeys Allah and His Prophet (Sallallaho alaihe wasallam), he has attained the highest achievement.

Note: Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas and Hazrat Ikrama (Radhiallaho anhum) are both said to have been of the view that the meaning of (and speak words straight to the right) is to recite the kalimah (La ilaha illaLlah). According to one Hadith, three things constitute the best of all actions. The first is to do Zikr of Allah under all circumstances, in happiness and in grief, in poverty and in affluence; the second is to conduct oneself with impartiality even when one's own interests are involved; and the third is to help one's brother with money.

(11) Give good tidings to my servants, who hear advice and follow the best thereof. Such are those whom Allah guideth, and such are men of understanding. (Al-Zumur, 17-18)

Hazrat Ibn-I-Umar (Radhiallaho anho) said that Hazrat Saeed Farsi (Radhiallaho anho), all the three used to recite the kalimah (La ilaha illaLlah) even before they embraced Islam, and by the words (the best utterance) what is exactly meant in this sacred Ayat is this kalimah. Hazrt Zaid bin Aslam (Radhiallaho anho) has also said that this Ayat relates to three persons who used to recite the kalimah (La ilaha illaLlah) even in their days of ignorance, and they were Zaid bin Amr ben Nafeed, Abuzar Ghifari and Salman Farsi.

(12) He who brings the Truth and he who confirms it; such are the dutiful. They shall have all they wish from their Lord's bounty. Such is the reward of those who do good. (Al-Zumur, 33-34)

Note: The persons who brought the message from Almighty Allah are the Prophets (Alayhim-us-Salato-wa-Salam) and the people who brought a message from Rasulullah (Sallallah alaihe wasallam) are the 'Ulama' (May Allah accept their efforts). Hazrat Ibn-I-Abbas (Radhiallaho anho) is stated to have said that 'The true thing' means the kalimah (la ilaha ila Allah). According to some commentators, the words (one who brought the true message from Allah) refers to Rasulullah (Sallallaho alaihe wasallam) and the words (those who confirmed it) refer to the Believers.

(13) In the case of those who say, "Our Lord is Allah," and afterwards are steadfast, the angels descend upon them saying, "Fear not, nor grieve but hear good tidings of the Paradise which you were promised. We are your protecting friends in the life of the world and in the Hereafter. There you will have all that your souls desire, and then you will have what you pray for. A gift of welcome from the Forgiving the Merciful." (Fussilat, 30-32)

Note: Hazrat Ibn-I-Abbas (Radhiallah anho) said that the words (the remained steadfast) meant that they remained steadfast in their belief in the kalimah (la ilaha ila Allah). Hazrat Ibrahim and Hazrat Mujahid (Radhiallaho anhuma) both supported the interpretation that they stuck to the kalimah (la ilaha ila Allah) up to their death, and never indulged in Shirk of any kind.

(14) Who is better in speech than one who calls (men) to Allah and doeth righteous deeds and says, "I am among those who bow in Islam (The Muslims)" (Fussilat, 33)

Note: Hazrat Hassan (Radhiallaho anho) said that the words (invited towards Allah) refers to the calling of (La ilaha illaLlah) by the 'Muazzin'. Asim bin Hubaira (Rahmatullah alaihe) advised, "After finishing Azaan, one should recite (nobody is worthy of worship except Allah; Allah is the greatest, and I am from among the Muslims).

(15) Is the reward of goodness ought save goodness? Which is it, of the favors of your Lord that ye deny? (Ar-Rahmaan, 60-61)

Note: Hazrat ibn-I-Abbas (Radhiallaho anho) narrated that Rasulullah (Sallallaho alaihe wasallam) had said, "The meaning of this Ayat is that Allah says, "Can there be any other reward than Paradise in the Hereafter for one whom I blessed in his worldly life with the recitation of kalimah (la ilaha ila Allah)." Hazrat Ikramah and Hazrat Hassan (Radhiallaho anhuma) have also said that the reward of (la ilaha ila Allah) cannot be anything but Paradise.

(16) Then Allah sent down His tranquility upon His Messenger and upon the believers and imposed upon them the word of self-restraint, for they were entitled to it and worthy of it.

Note: (Utterance of piety) in this Hadith means kalimah Tayyabah as explained in many narrations. Hazrat Abu Hurairah and Hazrat Salma (Radhiallaho anhum) quoted Rasulullah (Sallallaho alaihe wasallam) as having said that it means (la ilaha ila Allah). The same view was expressed by hazrat Ubai bin Kaab, Hazrat Ali, Hazrat Umar, Hazrat Ibn-I-Abbas, Hazrat-I-Umar, and many other Sahabas (Radhiallaho anhum) Ataa Khorasani (Rahmatullah alaih) was of the view that it meant the whole kalimah Tayybah i.e. (la ilaha ila Allah, Mohammad rasool Allah), while Hazrat Ali (Radhiallaho anho) had said that it meant (la ilaha ila Allah, Allah is greatest). Tirmazi is stated to have quoted on the authority of Barra (Radhiallaho anho) that this implied (La ilaha illaLlah)

(17) 'Those will prosper who purify themselves.' (Al-A'ala, 14)

Note: Hazrat Jabir (Radhiallaho anho) has quoted Rasulullah (Sallallaho alaihe wasallam) to have said that (became pious) means declared his faith in (la ilaha ila Allah, Mohammad rasool Allah) and gave up idol-worship. According to Hazrat Ikrama (Radhiallaho anho) tazaka means 'proclaimed' (la ilaha ila Allah) and this also was the view-point held by Ibn-I-Abbas (Radhiallaho anho).

(18) ' As for him who gives and is dutiful (towards Allah) and belives in goodness. Surely we will ease his way unto the state of ease.'
(Al-Layl, 5-7)

Note: State of ease means Paradise, because it is Paradise where all kinds of comforts and facilities will be available. Its further elaboration is that Allah will go grace a man as to make good deeds easy for him, which will expedite his entry to Paradise. Many commentators are of the view that the above-mentioned Ayat was revealed in favor of Hazrat Abu Bakr (Radhi Allaho anho).

According to Hazrat Ibn-I-Abbas (Radhiallaho anho) the word (good thing) mentioned in this Ayat means the kalimah (la ilaha ila Allah). Hazrat Abu Abdur Rehman Sulma also shares this view. Hazrat Imam Azam (Rahmatullah alaih) quoting on the authority of Abu Zubair and Hazrat Jabir (Radhiallaho anhuma) says that Rasulullah (Sallallaho alaihe wasallam) explained that 'believe in goodness' means testified (La ilaha illaLlah) while 'denies goodness' means refused it!"

(19) He who does a good deed shall have ten times as much to his credit. He who does an evil deed will be awarded according to his evil. No wrong shall be done to them. (Al-An'aam, 160)

It is related when 'He who does a good deed...' was revealed, someone asked Rasulullah (Sallallaho alaihe wasallam) if reciting of (La ilaha illaLlah) was also counted among their virtuous deeds. The Prophet (Sallallaho alaihe wasallam) replied that it is the best of all virtues. Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas and Hazrat Abdullah bin Masood (Radhiallaho anhum) take (virtue) to mean (la ilaha ila Allah). Hazrat Abu Hurairah (Radhiallaho anho) also holds exactly the same view. Similar meanings were also narrated by Hazrat Abuzar Ghiffari (Radhiallaho anho) on the authority of Rasulullah (Sallallaho alaihe wasallam) who held that (La ilaha illaLlah) was the best amongst all virtuous deeds.

According to Hazrat Abu Hurairah (Radhiallaho anho), one good deed is counted ten times over as a general principle but, for the Muhajirs compensation for one good is raised to seven hundred times.

(20) The revelation of this Book is from Allah, exalted in power, full of knowledge, who forgives sin and accepts repentance, strict in punishment, and hath a long reach. There is no god save He; to Him is the final goal. (Al-Ghaafir, 1-3)

Note: In an explanation of this Ayat, Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (Radhiallaho anho) states that Almighty Allah is the forgiver of sins, for one who says (La ilaha illaLlah), and acceptor of Tobah for one who recites (La ilaha illaLlah), and is the dispensor of severe punishment for one who does not proclaim (La ilaha illaLlah). The words 'hath a long reach' means (is All powerful) and (La ilaha illaLlah) refuted the Quraish, who did not believe in the Unity of Allah; 'to Him is the final goal' implies that one who says (La ilaha illaLlah) will return to Allah for entry into Paradise. While one who refutes (La ilaha illaLlah) will return to Him for entry into Hell.

(21) He who rejects false deities and believeth in Allah has grasped the firm hand-hold, which will never break. (Al-Baqarah, 256)

Note: Hazrat Ibn-I-Abbas (Radhiallaho anho) says that ( ) held the strong Rope menas that he proclaimed (la ilaha ila Allah). The same interpretation is also related from Sufian (Rahmatullah alaih).
