wu aazmaish see dil-o-nazr ki, wu qurbatain se wu faslai se

kabhi arzoo kai sehra main aa kai ruktai hain qaflai se
wu sari batain lagao ki si wu sarai unwan wisaal kai se

nigah-o-dil ko qaraar kaisa nishaat-o-gham main kami kahan ki
wu jab milain hain to un se her bar ki hai ulfat nai sirai se

buhat giraan hai ye aish-e-tanha kahin sabokatr kahin gawara
wu dard-e-pinhaan ki sari dunya rafiq thi jiskai wastai se

tumhi kaho rind-o-muhtasib main ho aaj shab kaun farq aisa
ye aik baithai hain mai kadai main wu uth kai ayai hain mai-kadai se
