As expected the champions trophy that was to be held in Pakistan has been cancelled. The ICC says its only postponed until October 2009 but we all know it ain’t gonna happen no more. Not in Pakistan anyway. South Africa was the first team to pull out. Australia, New Zealand, England and even West Indies (didn’t expect these guys) were going to boycott next. So the ICC ‘postponed’ it. Although it was a pretty useless tournament but Pakistan needed it. Anyway, with the current situation which is going to stay ‘current’ for a long time due to the ‘war of terror’ I guess its going to be a long long time before Pakistan actually play any useful cricket. I was really looking forward to Shoaib Akhtar’s ‘comeback’ but I guess thats not gonna happen now. Rest in peace Pakistan cricket…

hmmm, so eventually the western cowards have pulled out:).

i wonder these so called safe countries who mascarade about peace and safety so much, i bet the people in their respective counties are 100% safe...............

crime rate is as much high in these countries as well. but well, lets face it we are ASIANs and they are the WHITES.

after criticising them, I come back to the matter at hand. Well, if i place myself in their shoes, my son is abou to embark a journey to play in a country where seeing from the outside there seems no law and order and serious bombings occur, I would be jittery too.

In other words if pakistan wants to host guests, they should better get rid of this security situation and that too pronto.

Under the given circumstances, the postponment was not a good thing. Cause we sports fan are devastated by this decision. The important hting is to watch the sport being played, primarily it should have been pakistan, but when people in pakistan are not safe, then at least it should have been hosted at some other venue but the income should have shared with pakistan. I mean Pakistan should have co-hosted it with some other country, and in this case co-hosting means all the matches to be played in the other country but management would be shared and expenses would be shared and in turn the revenue would be shared.

It is a huge disappointment that this tournament was cnacelled. well i would call it cancelled. PCB is not playing the role that they are supposed to play. They should have anticipated the situation and should have at least pre-booked some series in case this happened. But I am sorry to say that only a moron in pakistan gets to raise to the top.

but yeh to fact hai koi bhi team aisi mulki haalat may apnay players ka risk nahi lai gi... so it was better k cancel hi kerdia jata ... but is ki jaga Pakistan may koi aur tournament hona chahiye bara ....

much true but problem wohi hy k Pakistan ko ujaarne k liye kaam karne wale hath boht mazboot hyn jab k sanwarne wale boht kamzor hmari govt aaj tak quam k basic problems hal karne mai naakam rahi hy to sports wagaire to kaafi baad mai aatey hyn hm aaj tak ye sort out nahi kar paaye k sadar ka muakhza hoga k nahi petrol ki qemat kam hogi k nahi etc etc to logon ki fikr sirf yaheen tak mehdood reh gyi hy is liye koi bhi in cheezon per twajja nahi de raha k sports bhi hmey interantional society mai kitna positive naam de saktey hyn per agr koi sacchy dil se effort karey to jab ki baat hy na!!!
