Salam,

Since my signature and avatar shows that i am a big fan of SRK who is one of the biggest superstar of INDIAN film industry. There are alot of ppl like me who like the work of people from other countries... does it make us non-patriotic or non-pakistani anyhow? Should not we like, watch or appreciate others?

No, appreciating/admiring/idealizing someone who does not belong to ones own country does not make that person unpatriotic in any way... I think every person is entitle to appreciate talent and goodness from where ever you happen to find it.

I agree w/ Arain,..plus if you dont limit yourself to discriminations as borders/race/religion/gender/color...etc, then you can hardly overlook something that attracts you and have a greater value to u.

I do not know how it goes in Pakistan but being an outside resident, I would say I have more favourites from Pakistan then any other country & I'm proud of it ... But If what you are saying is correct then yeah, its a shame...

We should appreciate others but not as much that transforms yourself into that celebrity.
Being a fan of any celebrity from other country isnt a big issue but i m not in favour of those who forget their own voices, movements, way of talking, dressing in order to imitate that celebrity.i think we should appreciate talent whereever it is but not as much that lose ur orginallity!

see... if someone likes a style of a celebrity.. whats so wrong in filling it in his own personality? since the day we are born... we see.. learn.. and apply things in our life, our behaviour and our nature. We were blank when we were born... we kept filling ourselves by observing others. We are original only when we are sleeping.. otherwise we have a role to perform on the stage of world. See.. i admire SRK alot.. not only coz of his acting skills but i also like the way he talks and his nature(as far as i know). I dont think its bad if we apply good things of someone in our life style.

Jahan tak baat hai.. being pakistani ki aur patriotism ki.. to i would say ke talent knows no boundary, we should always appreciate good things and good people so we can learn from them. I like so many things and people about Pakistan and i dislike so many things and people of pakistan.. same with India or any other country. If there is a person outside our country doing well and u like him... i dont see any harm in it. I personally believe we should appreciate every good thing(according to we ourselves) no matter where he lives, what religion or caste does he follow.

If we dont speak well.. why dont we speak like someone who inspires... if we dont have good sense of dressing.. why dont we dress like someone who has good dressing sense... if we are unaware... why dont we take knowledge from someone who knows whether he is pakistani or not.

1) how much do u know him ... ?
2) how many times have u talked to him?
3)how much do know about his life?
4)what has he done that makes u think he is worth being followed?
5)what makes u think ... following some1 is better than being original
6)u know some1 ... when u truly know them .... knowing names and habits doesnt mean u know a person
7)how can u be sure that he is the person u think he is ?

as for likes and dislikes ... everybody has the right to like or dislike ... i hate him .. i absolutely despise him .... that doesnt mean i hate indians ... neighter does it mean i hate inida !!
loving ur country doesnt mean u have to hate other countries ....

just my views .... ur free to think or believe what u want to u ... (if i am free to hate him .. ur free to like him) : ) ...

I can admire a person who makes a mistake and does not hesitate to admit it and then correct him/her self... I can admire a person who, after putting best efforts, do not mind accepting defeats and never gives up on hope... I can admire all these traits and try to bring them in my life thus seeing them as 'good' and making them part of my personality.... Adopting good traits like this has been around since the day we were born [like u've mentioned before] ...
We can certainty upgrade our personality in all the positive ways we want but we can not turn ourselves into some one we aint.... When you say you like the way SRK talks and try to do that yourself, If you mean doing dis literally by coping his ascent & gesture & hand movements and all... den Im sorry bro, I wud say thats leaving ur shell and trying to put on SRK-Costume and I think dats wat Mezzedup means as well... Well...... li'l bro in my opinion wether it be artists, books, scholars criminals or any sort of figures who are aapreciated by humanity or hated are not at all the property of the country only they belong to, rather anyone and everyone who can understand them and their work could comment on them, their work and posses this right to either like or dislike them. It has got nothing to do with patriotism, people who would accuse you of any such thing ask them about alllll those Hindu practises which we conduct in our everyday life especially in wedding and are LEAST bothered about :) ?

And beta on the other hand you should not be concerned if what you are doing is in accord with patriotism or not, rather think about if things are in accord with Islam or not. Not only about SRK but about any smallest or greatest thing :)

we should take good habits from other but when it comes to personality, looks, dressing, way of talking we dont have to learn it from anyone..we all have our own personality so better to be your self rather to imitate other styles!i dont think so that you are as much familiar with SRK'S habits?? the one whom we see on screen is not the real SRK! Yeah he is kool but still it doesnt mean that i will imitate his way of talking, dressing or use his dialogues in my normal conversation. i have my own style & i believe no body can play my role and the beauty and value is in preserving my natural state!

here an question arises, why r you un aware? if some one else can speak well then why not you??if some one else can dress properly then why not you?? God has gifted all of us with so many qualities n we can only get benefit from them when we use them rather than to copy others!

Guys I agree a person has his own personality and it should not be overshadowed by someone else's personality. I didnt mean to say that we should copy our favourites totally. I meant to say that if we think we can apply better things in our life and styles to improve by observing someone very good, whats harm in it?I use media to see whats IN whats OUT... Fashion... Behaviours... Good Deeds... what looks good... what looks bad... etc.

I dont know much about personalities.. but i believe that we should keep learning things by the experience and examples of others and yourself.

Even if you copy the styles of your favourites... your thoughts, your decisions, your activities, your opinions will remain yours... and thats most important in your personality... you keep changing your style but you cant keep changing your personality.. its a big difference.

If i like SRK.. i wanna be like him... but it doesnt mean i THINK like him, if i have any problem in my life.. i would not think ke what would SRK do in my place.. i would just go ahead and try to solve it with my own thinking.. so copying or apply things which you like and done by others.. is not bad at all i think.

Sir ji, I said AS FAR AS I KNOW HIM.... jitna mein jaanta hoon utna mujhe uski personality sahi lagti hai.. baaki jo kuch woh personally bura karta hai.. woh mein apni life mei apply nahi karna chahta simple ! aap ko kisi ki achi aadat dekh kar apnana chahiye.. uss ki buri aadatein dekh kar achi ko ignore nahi karna chahiye. Jo mujhe acha dikhta hai.. mere liye acha hai.

Why shouldn't you appreciate ??? I can't think of any of such reason...We should appreciate those who do some good...Its a good thing to buck up others & appreciate there efforts :)
