| On the spot It would indeed be very, very nice if the branch at which the NSC investors, have their account for an appreciable number of years, are given special consideration. That is these senior members ought to be allowed to purchase their savings certificates on the spot;without going through any tortuous wait or snail pace formalities. They must be given a valid, proper, registered receipt of the purchase of the certificate. Then they may take the form to fill at their own leisure. And once it is complete,( with all the names of joint account holders, their father or husband’ s names, not to forget their signatures and zakat declaration for affidavits;the as many Nadra id cards, and in case of minors some more paperwork) then they may bring the application form for the purchased certificate and get the certificate issued to them duly stamped on that date and not to forget to show the receipt.Otherwise it is a ‘sorry for the inconvenience’ situation.Too slow, and encouraging the losing of opportunity to invest whenever there is ready cash available;but no time for the investor to sit all day perched up on the branch without all the requirements for the form at hand. A discovery often coming up when one is halfway through filling form, and maybe the writing pen inadvertently develops leaking phenomenon.Common senior citizens embarrassing problems.Sigh! |
